Benefits of Labor Support

Support during labor can be tremendously beneficial to a mother. Studies have shown that having a professional birth worker attending during birth, women’s labors are shorter, there are fewer medical interventions, fewer cesareans, and the babies are even healthier. This support can be in the form of either a labor doula or a monitrice; I provide both services.

Statistics

50% reduction in cesarean rate
25% shorter labor
60% reduction in epidural requests
40% reduction in oxytocin (pitocin) use
30% reduction in analgesia use
40% reduction in forceps delivery
